Since 1992, Enterprise has been working with the city of Dallas and local partners to help low- and moderate-income residents become first-time homebuyers. Called the Dallas Mortgage Assistance Program, this program not only offers qualifying first-time homebuyers down-payment and closing-cost assistance, but provides homebuyer education as well. This, in turn, results in few instances of foreclosure and enables families to maintain their homes. This program is part of Enterprise's initiative to increase minority homeownership. This profile discusses the community need, program types, eligibility requirements and other key components of this program. This is part of the Innovations in Community Development Serie.
